The Sapphire Dagger Quartet

When a mysterious summons offers her an opportunity to leave her stifling life behind and go on an unusual adventure, Charlie of Windsong is too curious to say no.
Charlie learns that not only has she been chosen to revive a league of exceptional women called the Order of the Dagger, but that her success in doing so might be instrumental in stopping a war. Her decision to leave her family and the comforts of home behind means learning to take care of herself while she travels through a country adversarial to her own. While she's busy navigating danger from both mundane and magical sources, she finds herself saddled with an unwanted companion who is a little too curious about who she is and where she's from.
A decision born out of a restless desire for adventure will start her on a journey that will change all of the Eastern Lands as it tests the limits of her courage, ingenuity, and determination. Far from her sheltered and privileged life and growing to enjoy her independence, Charlie begins to consider her purpose and her place in a world much bigger and more complicated than she ever imagined.

Her first adventure began with a letter from a stranger--a second will give her an entirely new mission.
Stranded far from home by injuries and the onset of winter, Charlie of Windsong receives a letter alleging that her father, believed dead for several years, is not only still alive, but living close by in Shala. Despite considerable doubts, Charlie can't resist investigating, and she decides to set aside her search for the sapphire dagger to try to find her father instead. What starts as a search for one man quickly involves her in something much larger and more complex than she could have imagined.
Trading solitary travel to join a band of political rebels, Charlie now finds herself at the center of a movement that will not only take her across Shala and beyond, but will also potentially change the course of history in the Eastern Lands forever. Charlie has come to enjoy the independence and self-reliance she has learned since leaving her sheltered life at Windsong to travel alone, but committing to a cause larger than herself requires putting aside her own desires for the success of the mission. As she struggles to contribute to a group that views her as an outsider, she must fight to hold onto her autonomy and determine where her loyalties lie.

Winter in Tandora finds the country locked in a stalemate of war, and Charlie of Windsong remains with the Heir's Army to support Prince Justinian's fight for the throne.
Loyalties and allegiances prove tenuous during times of conflict, and a sudden betrayal forces Charlie to flee for her life in the dark of night. She escapes her pursuers with the help of friendly strangers and finds refuge in a fantastical place where she is welcomed as an honored guest. But the longer she stays, the more suspicious she becomes that not all is as it seems in this magical place, and she is uncertain who she can trust. When the truth is revealed, Charlie finds that the outcome of the war rests on a decision she must make. Her choice leads her on a fast-paced adventure through the Eastern Lands where she encounters danger, subterfuge, and someone from her past.
Her journey to Shala reunited her with her father, and her father's political scheming brought her back to her home country. Now to save those she cares about, Charlie must depend on her own abilities as she takes on a task that puts her at the center of the battle for the country. On this next adventure, Charlie encounters magic beyond what she has ever seen, steps into her new role as leader of the Order of the Dagger, and takes the future of the Eastern Lands into her own hands.

The war is over, and Charlie of Windsong finds herself taking on new responsibilities as the country rebuilds.
As a reward for her contributions during the war, the king of Tandora grants her the title of royal ambassador and tasks her with helping the new monarchy mend uneasy relationships with the other countries of the Eastern Lands.
In additional to her new position as ambassador, Charlie is still learning to fill the roles of leader of the Order of the Dagger and Keeper of the Gates left to her by the Order's founder, Jordana. When Griffin, with his usual talent for appearing when adventure calls, joins her in her hunt for the magical gates, their search quickly evolves into a quest to rediscover magic lost to the country long ago.
But when their search leads them to a place they could only dream of finding, instead of magic and wonder, they encounter danger that may prevent them from coming home again.
